Botanical Gardens
The Villa Pallavicino botanical gardens [3 minutes by car from the Hotel] are well-known for the variety of its centuries-old trees, the beauty of its flowers and the luxuriant of the vegetation, with an astonishing view over Lake Maggiore and the surrounding mountains. It is also well known for the several species of exotic animals. The park extends over about 16 hectares and is open to the public.
The Alpinia botanical gardens [10 minutes by car from the Hotel] can be found on the hillside of Stresa. A wide natural terracing extends for about 40.000 square meters and offers an incredible view on Lake Maggiore, over the Borromeo Islands and the surrounding Alpine chains. The main feature of Alpinia gardens is the variety of thousands of different species that come from the alpine and sub-alpine plain of the Alps.
Villa Taranto and its Botanical Gardens [20 minutes by car from the hotel], is an idyllic place for nature lovers. Located on Castagnola promontory, close to Verbania Pallanza, is rich of thousands of plants imported from all over the world and extremely rare collections have been laid out artistically in a background of unrivalled beauty between the Lake and the mountains.
The gardens have been open to the public since 1932 and are visited by countless groups of enthusiastic visitors every year.
